Thought the wind might pick up in the afternoon....bit of a sea breeze maybe on top of the forecast SW F3-4??? Went in to do some work in the morning but was getting distracted checking the wind all the time and indeed it was picking up, plus it was sunny. So at 2pm-ish jacked in what I was doing and drove down to Hillhead.

Was looking very good when I arrived. Between the 6.0 and the 5.2....couldn't decide again....went for the 6.0. Was fine at the start for 20 minutes, thought I had called it right for once. But then the wind picked up and I was mucho overpowered on the JP/6.0 combo....again, for the 3rd session in a row ARRRGGHHH BOLLOX BOLLOX BOLLOX. It was gone 4pm by now so not worth the risk and time to change down. Struggled along trying to gybe and keep the board on the water with approximately nil success. Ankles were killing trying to hold the board down. Kept on fiddling with the front footstraps and getting them wrong as well which didn't help. Then had the mutha of all fully planing catapults so gave up and came in. Was thinking about changing down to smaller kit but by now it was already 5pm and I couldn't be arsed any more.

Getting really annoyed that I keep on wasting good conditions by being on the wrong kit. The Quattro and 5.2 would have been perfect for 90% of the time today. Would have been soooo good at least 4 star session for sure if I had chosen the small kit, but instead all it deserves is 2 stars. Conditions were as good as they get today and reading about other people's good sessions is making it worse. To top it all off, from this session more kit breakages. Two tears in the 6.0, one in the top panel above the top batten, one small harness hook hole in the bottom panel from an earlier flop onto the sail during a gybe attempt. And I've bent my boom...must have happened in my big catapult. Bugger.

Hoping to go out again tomorrow with a few mates from the windsurf club, but the forecast has just got worse. Bugger.
